This is the last and final call
for passengers to board
for tomorrow comes the fog
and the train won’t move at all.

Today there’s still a glimmer
of hope for everyone
and a little ray of sunshine
creeping through the gloom
like a shake on the shoulders,
“Wake up, you’re not dead”
and you think it but a dream
of no consequence.

I had a dream of behind the scenes
but too few crumbs of insight
to heed a shadowed call …
and who cares if the train
waits for yet another day?

The whistle blows, again in blows,
and the train, love’s last avowal,
shudders at the thought
of moving empty forward on …
but it knows of the fog.

Sleep, oh, sleep, this artful sleep,
enslaves the tired weak
till little rays and glimmers
like ash after the fire
but still the whistle blows
till the breath of one who knows
falters and dies for the last and final time.

All I can say is WOW...this has so many underlying meanings, and once I started reading, I began to understand that it wasn't at all like the Title depicted.  Wonderful write, and I hope others get right into this one....~S~

Time does not seem to be on the side of humanity at the moment -- and I do believe there is still some humanity.  If you have a chance, I'd love to hear more about what is behind this write, as I do not want to miss That Train in my own experience ... I have been sleeping more than usual.   ....jo

Sunnyone - thank you so much for reading deeper.  Not everyone can and I've a feeling that you're already at the station.

jo, dear jo, you won't miss it but check your e-mail - not yet but soon because I need to do a bit of thinking.  Thanks for the read.
