A life of dull conveniency
Deprives sentencing, not leniency
A flat-line of complacency
Wields an eternal conformity

Could I ever not forgive
Then live the life, I want to live?
Could I ever walk away
And leave tomorrow’s yesterdays?

A continuing appeasement
Creates feelings of bereavement
A self-induced imprisonment
Handcuffs Cupid for his arraignment

Could I ever turn my back
To grab a hold of what I lack?
Could I ever start once more
To forget about what was before?

A never draining emptiness
Overflows the days with bitterness
A cold shoulder from happiness
Freezes fire of all hopefulness

Could I ever find what’s lost
And shun the counting of the cost?
Could I ever set myself free
In order to live how I want to be?

"I have gone away. The bed is cold and empty. Trees bend their boughs toward the earth. And nighttime birds float as black faces."

This reads so much more polite than the note I just wrote to my husband.

But then, he wouldn't read this, cause um, it RHYMES.

Maybe if I called it the Goodbye Lyric, and sang it to him, he might give it a go, though.

But naw, it would prolly just end up being his next karoake performance.

*shaking my head and laughing*

Just when I am feeling all alone in the world, I find me mirrored yet again at Pip.

I always enjoy your offerings.
