Through night’s vastness
known as midsummer’s sky
comets fly like skipping rocks
across a placid pond
breaking the serenity
of a trillion twinkling stars
it is as if gods on high
are standing at the edge of a celestial sea
and tossing stars across the firmament
which sink in an instant into black depths
to seek what lies beyond
shooting stars racing across heaven’s vault
leaving not a rippled trace
aye, leaving not a rippled trace.

...

aye, leaving not a trace,
but just a shimmer
in one's
eye

What a magical vision you bring to life...you have captured the wonder of shooting stars perfectly...A true joy to read...*big hugs*
