Who will fly with me
when all the birds are long gone,
from Roundup, DDT?
Who will croak a tune
from the lily pads in June,
sans amphibians?
And what will we drink
when all the waters turn green,
algae blossom juice?

Wake up, smell the rose.
It's about to be sprayed, too.
Death to living earth.

and here I am thinking I am the only one
with Armegeddon on my mind . . .

I just read this book "Hippie" by Barry Miles.  Amazing, Kacy - please read.  The photos alone are amazing.

Quite an eye opener actually, but true to those times.

You would like it.

thanks for that reply, Sue, and the book suggestion

Craig, very clever play on words, thanks for reading

I cringed watching the owner spray Roundup all over the perimeter of the horse barn...he poisons the very ground where the frogs hop around, where the horses sometimes nibble a bite, where the new kitties playfully wrestle, where mommy kitty drops a freshly captured field mouse for dinner. When we asked him last year to PLEASE DON'T SPRAY, he laughed and reminded us he owned the land. If he sprays his salad garden, I pray for poetic justice.

The world is polluted everyday by such acts of destruction against the natural world..enjoyed the read here...and the serious point behind it..

yanno, I guess if people are polluted, then so will be their home?  Kinda stands to reason, doesn't it...

Oh lady, I'm right there with ya...and must admit, quit humbly, many years ago, when I was just a young mother, and they first spoke of global warming, or maybe it was, when I first became aware of the fact, I laughed it off, now, I'm very sorry I did, very sorry!

Hugs to you

Thanks Phil, as I am quite seriously against this business. We seem hellbent on  poisoning everything that gets in our way.

Lee, thanks. You aren't alone, it was the governments intent, still is apparently, for us to ignore such threats when it isn't economically advantageous to the big money making corporations that develop and spew these horrid killing agents.
And I sure hope no one out there believes that DDT is gone...it's still out there, recycling itself around the globe, and is also still used in it's original form in some 'developing' countries even though the USA banned it's use here in 1972.
