I am asked to describe myself
Only one word appears

Doldrums

I am constantly depressed without your words
My day to day is no longer sunlight

Doldrums

A repetitive gloom hangs over my head
a blue funk has sickened my childish glee

Doldrums

The sadness stares me down
my sweet angel is no where near

Doldrums

Misery loves company and I am its betrothed
Each day darkens without you here

Doldrums

I am marked with a word I never knew
A word that is so simple yet it has me in its snare

Doldrums

I beg for the return of happiness and youthful energy
I ask for you my love to come back to me
