Silence

The silence again surrounds me,
The darkness closes in.
Why has my hope escaped me?
Where does love begin?

There was a hand reaching for me,
The touch so close at hand.
Then as suddenly it was gone,
The hope for love so grand.

The silence again surrounds me,
The ache begins it’s beat.
My skin, like ice, feels chilled,
Removed from the heat.

Grasping in the sorrow,
For a sign of grace.
When will love surround me?
When I look into your face?

theres a sad feeling to this, but it also shows hope....

In your light I learn how to love
In your beauty how to make poems
You dance inside my chest where
no one sees you and that sight becomes this art

I'm not sure what the modern equivalent of "trust in the Lord but keep your powder dry" when courting (dating in your language)these days

For every woman feeling this way, there is a man doing the same, albeit not for the same reasons, hence the 'keep your powder dry' bit

I remember my brother and I working our way down hosts of women for a dance and we eventually shook hands in the middle and carried on as a sort of venture

No-one is every alone, and most have gone through the same thing

It is unfortunately called life

unrequited love is still one of the most commonly written love themes, and yet, each write is unique
a sad but fine write, Marilyn

Thankyou all. I do have someone in my life so this isn't about me. I was reading and the inspiration came to me.

You do have words...which expressly intensely too. I feel your pain and your loss and long that I might offer relief. But alas only time and perhaps much introspection can begin to heal what only you fully understand. But until then we'd like to be a part, in our reading, of what you alone can express. For grief without growth is pain without purpose. Write on dear lady we are here to read.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
