Com-passion

               is a meaningful word...
               sharing the same passion
                      the same suffering
                      the same agony
                      accepting in my heart
the misery in yours,   oh,    my sisters
                               and you  ~  accepting me.

Oh yes,  there is fear
                 but even more deeply
there is the insistent cry from the entrails
                 of the suffering one

                        that calls me forth...

               some faint feeling
                    of confidence
              that my smile   my presence
                 has value    and can give
                                 hope..

thus deep friendship is born

                                     mutual presence

                                  humble and forgiving

                                      engendering

                                        quiet joy.

"Compassion" ~ eloquently expressed by a poetess who truly knows the meaning of the word.

Those who know you as a "friend" as very fortunate, indeed!

It is always a treasured moment when we find that bond with a person where we are the only one who can let them know they are really heard and listened to.  Hugs KJ

compassion....

Nancy...these are lovely thoughts, your heart is big, it shows... pretty lady....

In your light I learn how to love
In your beauty how to make poems
You dance inside my chest where
no one sees you and that sight becomes this art

Truly a treasure, Nancy. There is way too little compassion in this world of ours and it was good to read of yours.

Nancy Lee you nailed the only feeling that can move mountains that is for sure   Only one other time did I read a poem about compassion, that was written by a friend from an old site I used to post at that made tear up, and I wanted to show it to you.  Both you ladies do compassion proud.  Katherine Chandler posted her for a bit as Pout Princess, but then went back home to her favorite site.  Here is hers for you to read.

Sincerely loved yours enough to keep it in my album with hers, and will treasure both.

Wings of healing come with compassion and the value of a true sister.  Great tenderness of heart shines in this poem Enchantress!  Beautiful.

It is nice to meet you here on PIP.  I appreciate you taking time to read my entrance poem.  I see you are very active here.  It's taking a little time to learn how to move around the site.
