breaking news

looking for a lost cause
where fires near home
dissecting politics from the pulpit
like some frog sitting there smiling
on the desk of controlled skepticism
disrupting hormones, with cumulative effects
rolling stones into my apartment
with hidden cameras
cloning world wide sight maps

i am an astronaut with no strips
which leads, to higher learning?
a finding, greeted with decay & diversity
tinting the windows of over population
oil spills & tainted masons

i’m an alien in a jar, that people fear
selling principles directly to consumers
images in orbit with country profiles?

adding new layers of kangaroo meat
exposing fast food restaurants, building greens
pretending to care about its clientele
while the pushers pretend to care
about american history

sneaking out into the trash, thorny repairs
vaccinations meet their goals
while a harvard grad is asked to sell his soul
and senior citizens still doing time
    the beat goes on…an on
all in the name of science
and some employee giving campaign
generating care, by short term criminals
out on good behavior

how silly this day in pictures
power ball players, sunning in the east room
trading bills…while humiliation sues anguish
with some great big green apology

fat grey haired old men, sending children to war
containing youth in poverty
where it’s easiest to control
whose the terrorist? where are the teachers?
suicide bombers with higher paid salaries
putting patients first?

Whose your daddy?

every philosophy has a helicopter pad
focusing on annual bonus with a manual
of trusted consultants doing their jobs

locations, matching donations
talk about a printer friendly world
no one is focused on the algae growth
cloning in our oceans…

quick fixes, chemical companies
homeland security
whata joke?
corportate key initiatives
become rising stars in
malaysian governments

why aren’t we further along?
communications, becomes a puff ball
just to help you understand
that certain people in hollywood are
black balled
who the hell cares?

society scars me,
look at the headlines
insulting intelligence
brain dead woman actually care what
jalo’s wearing
purchasing common sense at a road side
week at a glance?

and oh my god, we’ve seized the state radio
and television station?
we’re winning the war
with heat shields embarking on a space walk
where main routes flow in an out of the capital
and life, losses power
wull hey, michael jackson is close
to resolving a legal dispute
what else is there?
we can always vote sharpton in?
We certainly do love the negative!

Excellent write here once again Lee.

Kinda makes ya want to go live in the wilderness somewhere huh?

Love ya lady~

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

LeeJ - What can one say except "amazing write" and I surely do remember saying that a few times.  Still, the truth is the truth and I reckon there's more truth than fiction in this write of yours - this amazing write.

It seems your poems are never easy, but they are always worthwhile. I love the unique way you see things!

love the way you break the news, Lee

reading and listening to the breakingnews is a poetic balancing act, just finding a way to survive the brain-deep wade in the cesspool, the synaptic overload that threatens to bury us...heart and soul

perhaps, that's why I watch PBS specials, the ones that go into the core, the heart of the matter, rather than skim the surface of our senses like an obnoxious alarm clock

I read this a couple of days ago... was compelled to come back... to applaud your intelligence and your words. *S*

'gads, I almost missed this...

LeeJ
It is more pleasent now,
After reading this
Knowing omeone else is aware
Of what goes on around,
What really exists

You have struck at the problem,
Your brain is your sword;
The normal spoken word will not suffice,
That is obvious-- at this stage of your life
Your mind has more power than your hands.....

This may not change the world
Or might it?

Anyway--Please continue to grasp...
