In Celebration-Not

It's a different kind of world for me,
I wear this phantom heart.
A day of anniversary,
anguished from the start.

Away with me, my thoughts of you
the mirror says it all.
I'm Aliced in and Aliced out,
no words, no sound of call.

The years would number thirty-five
with five of them a miss.
Sometimes depressed, sometimes psyched up
I write the words like this.

Remember not, I'm sure of him,
no cards of caring sent.
Others know and let me be
unsung, the past is spent.

What do you do with days like this
in celebration-not?
It's August and the heat is on
while I sit and writeforgot.

~Sending you understanding hugs Maureen~

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

Maureen, I know that most people here don't think so,
but I do understand this. I've got quite a few anniversary's
I'd just as soon forget ever happened. LOL

Oh, I guess I might had better say that not all of
them were Wedding Anniversaries. LOL

A very well written poem, M, as are all of your's are.
Hugs,

Oh, I would have loved to have written this 25 years ago...September...this year, would have been 35 for me as well...

After the first three years, I saw the writing on the wall, tried to give it another "breath of life" but it vanished after a full nine years.

But, yes,
I will think on that day in September,
those things I still wish to remember,
the laughter and fears, forgetting the tears...
no longer thinking thoughts of dismember...

Sorry - my Imp got in the way...

Y'know?  On that very day in a few weeks?
I've got to go in for dental work.

Apropos, yes?

well my day turned out pretty bad as my father-in-law-still, who lives in the top of the barn...went to the hospital and needs a pacemaker tomorrow...so I  spent the evening in the hospital with my eventual ex Pete...and his family

so we did end up spending this day together despite the circumstances...

oh well (as someone I know and care about would say~~)
