When conversations turn to love
And all around have had their say
With just a little, gentle shove
I’ll tell them of that day

A day the rain was pouring down
And I, though soaking wet
Found the coffee shop in town
Where she and I first met

Alone, she sat with distant stare
No ring upon her finger
With ruby lips and raven hair
I thought that I should linger

Being bold as youth will bring
I asked if I might sit
One look from her made my heart sing
I was smitten, I’ll admit

She smiled and in that smile I knew
That I had found the one
To take me to a life, anew
My search for love was done

For fifty years we made a life
Till she was called back home
And five years now, I miss my wife
Five years now, alone

When conversations turn to love
And all around have had their say
I know she hears me, up above
While I tell them of that day.

this a chronic Sorrow, a living loss and a marriage of poignant thoughts, expressing loss powerfully, illuminating and perhaps soul making for the still living...

REMEMBER
remember me when I am gone away
gone far away into the silent land
when you can no more hold me by the hand
not I half turn to go, yet turning stay
remember me when no more day by day
you tell me of our future that you plann'd
only remember me, you understand
it will be late to counsel then oor pray
yet if you should forget me for a while
and afterwards remember, do not grieve
for if the darkness and corruption leave
a vestige of the thorughts that once I had
better by far you should forget and smile
than that you should remember and be sad

Christina Georgina Rossetti, 1830-1894

You are wealthy beyond compare to have had such a love
....and we are just as fortunate to have read your love...thank you
