Demons Light

Demons lightening on and off
Thunder echoes loud in cough
Stir the shadows beneath the veil
Within the dark and falling gale

I stand before a phantoms lance
Atop a red eyed horse of prance
Waiting to be forced by age
To put a stone upon this page

And sink within the dust of grime
The quick sand of the pool of time
Going down without a rope
Without a strand of hemp or hope

But I’ve sent forth a poets dove
To fly a streamer of self love
To chase the thunder clouds away
To aid the sun to warm the day

So look the sky and see it fly
And taste the apple of the pie

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back
