Precious love, when might thy sun again
touch tresses gold and cast such soul
upon mine eyes...bringing a halt
to this tormented love's one heart?

Oh sweet, sweet love, beg not
I hang above you, bewildered, yet
set free, I see more than thou
evil deeds take over, I pray..."

I ask this of thee...I beg of thee.

My hands feel not the smoothness
of thy flesh, for cold stone has
taken it away. Rusting steel bands
bind hands that yearn to touch,
yet again...

M'lord, m'soul, m'love,
intimate as you may,
we knew, we knew our fathers' sway
yet we gilded lilies, and more....

My deeds, merely a drop of rain
upon the courtyard stone.

Sweet stone, release thee!

A torrent rages, awaits yet again secrets of night

ah, such sweet night as we might know!

beneath this virgin moon where
glow of thine eyes beckons me,

dear, dear heart, come closer, listen!

I stir the sinewed flesh...to dine
upon a rapture I knew yesterday,
in your arms,

once again...just once again, m'love.

Now fall, fall, into such
liquid embrace, m'lord!

This chill I wear whispers to me, for
death is nigh...Rest love, know
that my eyes have held thee, that
my soul awaits thee...and m’love,
know the gilded lily smiles...
Even as I rest....and this chill reigns
but a mere moment more....

Magnus and Lady

You have penned a romantic epic with all the ache and strong love, masterfully.  Bravo!

Mag, Lady:

Forgive me for not replying more quickly to this exquisite piece.  I read your poem yesterday and then had to intervene in an argument between my daughters. Sheesh, it's never ending.

Mag...that same little birdie reminded me to revisit today.

You two are amazing together.

Pat

It's hard to get two people to agree on anything, and especially two writers... yet the two of you together leave absolutely no questions. This is a great job.

M'lord...

it was my pleasure
to one again twine
heart-thoughts with you;

You but held the key,
the lock fell open.

Dare I wish for another
entwined duet
in some future?

I might...
only you shall know.

~*~

To our friends who responded...
thank you.  Duets can be a measure
of trust, enchantment, and above all
encouragement, that one might know not
to be afraid, to share
emotion.

Begone, and write, with a beloved.
