suddenly
beneath this moon
      lantern lit
behind the edge
of darkness

silence

bangs
louder than the
speed of sound

and my ears
settle like dust

uninterrupted

EXCELLENT Maree!!!
Hugs YOU!

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

I love this!  I have read this poem several times and found a personal meaning in your words that I will indeed take with me.

I just told someone in another reply, that I'm picking my poems with utmost care tonight, but that I have no idea whatsoever why I'm actually choosing the ones I do....

Still batting a thousand, but I doknow why I chose this one. It's because Dark Angel is someone I like a lot, who also happens to be an extraordinarily good poet....of course!

Looks like we all know the sound of silence
but it took a mind like yours to write it down. Terrific, Martyjo
