She woke up in the morning
And stretched in her bed
Reached for her husband
And felt he was dead

He got into his pick-up
And turned over the key
Pulled out into traffic
And died instantly

The child was so happy
He found something new
But guns can be deadly
His life is now through

Nobody knows when their life is to end
You know it will happen, but you never know when
Nobody knows on what day it will be
But one thing's for certain
It's definitely

She kept getting headaches
To the doctor, she went
A tumor had found her
Her days are now spent

With his mind on his family
He would never hear
The pilot's last message
"Lord help us" [in fear]

His heart had been broken
Too many damn times
He then lifted his pistol
And committed life’s crime

We never will know when our lives are to end
We know it will happen, but we never know when
Does anyone know on what day it will be?
The answer is hidden
For no one to see

He suffered from hunger
Curling up as he cried
Nobody could feed him
So he starved till he died

Her desire for crack
Grew out of control
She could not get enough
'Til she gave up her soul

He went off to the war
With conviction and pride
The enemy was prouder
And killed him in stride

It seems so unfair not knowing the time
This reality of death is the ultimate crime
Each day we live could be our life’s last
So, why even worry?
Our fate has been cast

"I have gone away. The bed is cold and empty. Trees bend their boughs toward the earth. And nighttime birds float as black faces."

such sad instances you show here...but so common. I guess that is why you don't go to bed angry, and try to tell the ones you love, just how much they mean to you every chance you get.

Ah, my fellow poet, I was right with you until the end.  I will have no truk with fate.  Sorry, my steps are more ordered than that.  Good writing and insight.  Thank you!
