Where have the years gone?
They say 'don't blink your eyes'

but..

How could it be..
wasn't it just yesterday
that I gave birth
to an incredible daughter
Your..Mother  ~  My..'Bella'.

Her growing up years..
ballet classes   the laughter   the tears
seems like yesterday..

And here you are
oh, but I see her reflected
there ~ in the two of you..
such times I have to catch myself,
a certain look, a tilt of the head,
      the eyes..the smiles..the giggles.

          I remember...

wasn't it just yesterday?

Your Mom and Dad are doing a fine job
Raising two lovely young ladies.
And each of you celebrating birthdays!
Thirteen and Sixteen..
And this Grandma is SO very proud!

I remember the nights each of you were born,

seems like...

            yesterday.

Would someone please
  make time stand still
that I may savor a little longer
         these precious days..

~Birthday wishes to my beautiful granddaughters Megan & Nicole~

"Would someone please
make time stand still
that I may savour even more
     these precious days..."

This is lovely...Sometimes, I look at my little girl of 6 years and worry that she is growing up so fast.  Perhaps I feel it so because I have a 22 and 14 year old as well and it seems like yesterday when they were both tiny ones.  Yes, indeed, I do savor my time with her.

So great to read your work again.

My goodness, Nancy! Your grandaughters may resemble their Mom but from what is apparent to me, their Mom must resemble YOU! A very strong family resemblance!!!

They are beautiful! ~ and might I add, that so was your birthday poem for them!

your poem so very touching...pretty lady....hugsss you

In your light I learn how to love
In your beauty how to make poems
You dance inside my chest where
no one sees you and that sight becomes this art

Tinker, what beautiful granddaughters!!!  Your pride and joy in these two lovely young ladies is so very well expressed.  I wish both of them a "Happy Birthday".  And may time slowed down so you can savour these moments with them.

believe in what your heart feels...

This is a lovely tribute.  Do you remember the "New Christy Minstrels" tune "Turn Around"?
"Turn around and she's a young girl going out of the door"

Lovingly written. KJ

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

they ar e beautiful and those smiles tell me you have reason to be proud! This is a lovely tribute and a good warning - my granddaughter is almost 4 and the time has gone so fast I can hardly believe it! She will be a teenager in a heartbeat! And yet, I have never written a poem for her except one haiku to go with a picture of her playing in the snow...poerhaps this will inspire me
