you turned the channels
I turned your thoughts
there were pretentions
stuffing envelopes
without splinters
you wondered if I would lick

or just force the flap inside
and not care about seam healing
and if my metal would be cold
on winter mornings
when the lake was froze over
and sundresses had parkas

or if my hands were the same
as yours when you touch the water
and did the earthquakes come
as expected, unexpectedly
like our conversations recently
although the thoughts were older

then the taxi days of our parking, lots

Who cannot enjoy such a winding
of thoughts, and alleys of avenues?

You're such a delightful read
with the first cup.

Thank you!

Enjoyed the way you so well describe the ever changing tides of a relationship, understanding and knowing it is not always a smooth go, yet pointing out the importance of compatibility...well done

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
your hands do quite well when touching a pen as well.
now theres some interesting symbolism.
yer too cool Dark poetman.
I'll bare the brunt of your long buried pain
I don't mind helping you out
But I want you to remember my name
Sometimes a poem settles, like wine, into clarity and a certain poignant lilt that is neither sweet nor bitter, only good.
I'm glad I uncorked this one tonight.
