Tell me what you know is good
Rub me with your robe in hood
Press my nose against the floor
Shout the holy words of lore

Tell me now how I should live
Nothing but my flesh to give
Picked my brains for selfish deeds
Placed inside your numbing seeds

Tell me what you know is right
My dark ways increase the night
Step in Light to the same beat
Born Again, I wash your feet

Tell me just what do we need
Nail their spirits with our creed
Strip them from their cultured race
Wipe the mouth off of a face

Tell me who we should attack
Bend them ‘til we break their backs
Stand their bones inside the pews
Pass the plate of moral views

Tell me now what must be done
Build a cross for everyone
Point a finger at their grave
From themselves: we have to save

Tell me how we will succeed
From the same book we must feed
Those that choke are sure to fall
Our God is for one and all!

"I have gone away. The bed is cold and empty. Trees bend their boughs toward the earth. And nighttime birds float as black faces."

I read the first one, and this one, and I don't really understand...are you mad at Christians or ???
I'm not being sarcastic either, honestly didn't know what exactly you meant by these..

First off, I don't expect to gain any "brownie points" on this site by posting poems such as these two.

Second, I actually admire that you asked an honest and open question about these poems... instead of the usual, "Nice poem" or "That was good."  It showed to me that you actually read and thought about what you read, and I don't know how often that happens in here.

It may seemed geared towards Christianity, and it is, but only because that is what I can relate my feelings to on this subject matter. I was raised a Christian.

However, it can pertain to any religion that thinks it "got the market cornered" on salvation... and believe that their concept of God is the only true God.

Thanks Sea, I appreciate your candid reply.

Thanks for understanding it was an honest question

I do give a lot of that was nice replies, or that I enjoyed a poem, I'm not big on critiques because I don't think I'm qualified to do so. But I won't say that i enjoyed it if I don't mean it.

Thank you for clearing that up for me. I do agree with you. I don't believe there is only "one" religion that is good and right. I think there are so many different religions for a reason...to teach people what they need to know for what is going on in their lives, and as they learn and grow, so might their choices of religion.

Whoa! I am not judging you on your replies. And I am sure that many sincere replies may just be a simple, "That was nice."  It is just refreshing to see an inquisitive reply once and a while that is all.

And as your final comments, I couldn't agree with you more. double

don't care what religion we pray in, as long as we pray together...
