I dare not speak this love for her
For shame will follow in its steps
Within this sorrowed, burdened heart
Silence now, forever kept

A lady of the highest order
Beauty, none will e’er surpass
Soft of lips and twinkling eyes
A woman well beyond my class

A simple, common man am I
Unworthy in her sight
Doomed to live in solitude
Blinded by her light

I fear I’m not the only one
Whose heart has so been captured
Many men have been undone
Their souls are now enraptured

And she will never know our plight
For by this silence we are mute
We wander into darkest night
Aimless in pursuit.

Wonderful writing once again...
