and so i sang, in tune or not
who cares
as cards of salvation, are all i’ve got
every fracture allows buoyancy in
where it fills my bruised ineffectiveness
and watch, when it dies in the hills
where i hesitated
to pick up a tree frog

day asks of me,
“where is the white goddess?”
i say…
”off bagging some invisible influence
dragging the leg of alterations
from one place to another
hooking the bra of envision
until we discover television
making systematic life possible”

collecting sharp cool pebbles
curving my song into surprise
where empty bottles are filled
immersed in some miracle school

nomadic autumn, curls close inward
to the beat of a round tree
memory by memory
sitting in a doorway
holding maple leaves
as a poem should be
the day after

like swans in the dark
warming each other
kissing my eyes

munching young thickets of trademark
changing colors of night
drowning puddles
of cold hills & sneering inspiration

like oysters leaping back into their shells
giving my tongue a new word
while
crossing bridges running toward us

does anyone read poetry anymore?
should they celebrate the anthology
of salt and pepper weather
that nature brings forth?

i keep the snow melting
as early childhood follows in my footsteps
regardless of the fly buzz
and their thoughts traveling through the dark

I never intended to become a poet
which penetrated the core
lifting me off the page carefully
as though conversation might linger
one lifetime is not enough!

and so i sang, in tune or not
who cares
as cards of salvation, are all i’ve got
every fracture allows light in
where it fills my bruised ineffectiveness
and watch, when it dies in the hills
where i hesitated
to pick up anything and keep it

LJ, this write feels rather bob dylan-ish to me!  I especially enjoyed this:
"I never intended to become a poet
which penetrated the core
lifting me off the page carefully
as though conversation might linger
one lifetime is not enough!"

Great!   K

But you penetrate the core so danged well! You just keep impressing anyone who reads you with the magic of your mind! I'm going to have to build a new wing in my library, just for your works!

Thanks for keeping the "amaze" in my day, darlin'!
