after the turmoil
the anguish
the pain
the deluge of waves
the tears fell like rain

Banda Aceh

the people just want to end the strife
the fighting,the killing
they want to resume a normal life

and as we watch
from a distance

can we see
a new reality?
is this a sign of hope
for peace, tranquility?
and can the message from here
be forwarded
be translated
into Arabic and Hebrew?
and into English, too?

for in Banda Aceh,
the people want
PEACE

I think that all of us want peace..it's just our elected governments who take us to war...wars NOT IN OUR NAME....but they take us there nonetheless..a thought provoking poem Kacy..i agree... peace be to the world...

thanks to each, for your reply

the stark reality?  most of the survivors aren't currently discussing the Peace initative at this time...they are minute-by-minute focussed on putting their lives back together on the most basic levels....food, water, shelter, jobs
but nothing short of long term Peace will allow them to rebuild a liveable infrastructure
