Another Nowhere

Here I am, nowhere
wondering how long
my placement will be.

I ache almost as much as
one who can't feel,
wheelchair bound, lifted
(in spirits)
only when another
arms herself to do so,
the strength growing,
even if lacking.

Always between the demand,
not wanted, yet
the aloneness still felt
when surrounded by the need
of others.

Missing my place,
my own nowhere,
time fielding the impatience
in me.

M

well Sy, call it despair or call it being where needed
but not enjoying it

down in Tenn where the humidity
is frazzeling more than my hair

A long time ago when I was in Nowhere, my mother gave me about fifty seedlings to plant in her lane, etc.  (Very kind of her...Right?)  I don't think she planned it to be a lesson in living, rather, a way to get her trees planted!  But what came from it was that it gave me a "setting" to my Nowhere.  It gave me a "Somewhere".  Each season they became stronger and I realized I could, too.
From what I've read in your work, you are in a "Somewhere" utilizing roof maintenance talents, gardening, and educating minds.  Hang in there; better days to come.  I think you're a pretty special somebody, M.

   Sincerely,
   miscellanea

I can't get on here properly on another's computer (more illiterate on my part to a different operating system...but I thank  each of you for your kind words and to let some of you know I am alive and well although in Tenn. rather than PA...my brother had a knee replacement, his wife is paralized ( has been for years) and my mother needed someone to help until we could find a CNA or someone capable of lifting my sister-in-law...therefore
here I am interviewing and being let down by those who say they can and want the job only not to show up the next day ...
sighing~~~ in the meantime I am the "lifter" etc...

p.s. Bernie...if you can make the time and  a halfway meeting let me know...I will be here for at least a few more days.

Wishing you and your family well.  Sounds tough.  I'm sure everyone appreciates what you're doing to help out.

I forgot what a great smile you have, Maureen.
