"MY WINDOW PAIN"

We've finished eating supper and there's dishes left to do
But I don't mind because I know today is almost through
While at the sink I watch the sun fall gently in the sky
Then spreading fiery colors down to tell the world good-bye

It isn't long until I feel a presence in the air
My heart start's beating faster and I'm sure he's standing there
I know exactly where he is each time that he appears
He stands beside a photograph I've had for many years

Yet when I look, he goes away but sometimes I can see
I catch a glimpse of him in flight as he is leaving me
Today I will not turn around so he won't disappear
I only want to talk to him and pray that he can hear

"You left so fast there wasn't time for me to let you know
What you had earned the right to hear before you had to go
I think about you all the time and miss you every day
Sometimes I try hard not to cry but tears fall anyway

I wanted to say "Thank You" for what's in my memory
You made me feel important with the love you gave to me
It must have been so hard for you to teach me what you could
But now I understand it all just like you said I would

You taught me all about respect and why it had to be
But what was more important was that I respected me
I even learned allot of things you never even knew
You taught me how to drive a car from me just watching you

I saw you fight for your beliefs with dignity and pride
Some times against the best of them with no one by your side
Your strength was almost magical I felt it all around
Your courage taught me how to place my feet on solid ground

Although you didn't go to school you showed intelligence
You taught me everything you knew through good old common sense
I'll always be so proud of you and thankful for each day
Yet it's my heart that can't accept you've really gone away

But daddy there is one more thing that you forgot to do
You didn't teach me how to go on living without you
And daddy, yes I know it's you your image is so plain
You see, I've watched you watching me here in "My Window Pain"

Thank You Both,
Yes, he was simply amazing and not a day goes by that I don't think about him.
God Bless!
