Afterwards

Things look the same
My key fits the door
But the feeling of home's
Not here anymore.
Overwhelming empty
Prevents any pretend
This defection of happy
Will come to an end.
Grief fills my heart
Because I need you here
But you're only present
In memory's tear.

For Cosette, 7/14/89-12/13/03... missed so much by both her feline and human moms.

With heartfelt gratitude to Janet Marie for uploading my baby's pics. *S*

You know how I feel about cats, and I am the same.  I have another one now but still come in the door hoping to her Cali, but she is never there.  So sad but wonderful we can still carry our little furry friends forever in our hearts.

A heartfelt tribute to a wonderful friend.

and present in your tender pen.

How about me not blaming you for everything
How about me enjoying the moment for once
How about how good it feels to finally forgive you

youre very welcome... ya know I cant help but be partial, being that fate somehow smiled and I ended up with a male "twin" version of her...its just uncanny the resemblance -- add a white blotch on the nose and you have my goober we call "mo-jo"  lol

shes as lovely as her mother(both of them)

Suthern~

she is beautiful.... we were all devastated when we lost tracker, she was my first baby....then we got hunter, who is now the little monster under the bed.... hugsss

In your light I learn how to love
In your beauty how to make poems
You dance inside my chest where
no one sees you and that sight becomes this art

Oh how I ache for you. I had two that were almost identical to yours. Wizard and Kitty Boo. Very special to me they were as yours is to you. I have another tuxedo kitty that was given to me for my birthday about 3 weeks ago and he's an orphan. Now he is about 8 weeks old and he too looks like yours other than a little more white and his bent and broken tail. We call him Bentley for that reason.

What is about a pet that leaves us this way?  I still miss my Samual Lickingston although its been a year... We've another dog now, but he's a big lummox.  We love him, but he just isn't Sammy!

You write so tenderly, something I've always admired about your writing.  It is so good to read you once again.  Sure wish I could manage my time better so I could hang out here more frequently!  Take care!

....sigh....I know how much that kitty meant to you....and I thought of her (& you) yesterday. Re-hanging pictures after re-doing our bedroom, we came to the picture I once took of Shadow.... some pictures didn't go back up, and she's been gone for several years now....but the vote was unanimous -- she's back up.

A Puss 'n Boots...

Thank you, suthern. I knew by the title alone that I had to be in the right place before I could read it. Lately I've been on the edge of emotion, and had to be able to say...thank you...just right, and without tears.

Bless your heart, she was a precious gift.

latearrival: Thank you so much, kind lady! *S*

Martie: Tuxedo cats are obviously abundant... but each one is still rare and precious. *S*

miscellanea: First... I love Sammy's name! *S* That's classic! *S* Thank you so much for your kind comments... I wish you could be here more... for I miss you. *S* But I know how hard it is to juggle time... so make taking care of you #1 priority! *S*

Startime55: What a wonderful response... thank you so much! *S*

scorpio: Thank you so very much! *S*

Ratleader: Such a tiny being left such a big hole in my heart. *S* I am grateful for every day she blessed my life... also for the special people that helped me through losing her. *S* Thank you so much... and thank you for telling me about rehanging Shadow's picture... I feel a special affinity for her since it was her poem that made me realize that the poet whose immense talent had me intimidated into silence (me commenting on your poems had seemed a bit like a child with crayolas patting Monet or Van Gogh on the back and saying "nice job!" *G*) had a heart even greater than his talent. *S* This will always be one of my favorites. *S* /pip/Forum76/HTML/002632.html

Sunshine: She was, indeed... *S* Thank you so much... take care of you!

hoot: Thank you so much, kind lady... she was the best of friends. *S*

Midnitesun: That they do! *S* Once they wander into your heart, they're there to stay. *S* Thank you so very much!

feel if I lost my little Scooter. He is so much more
than "just" a pet. He is my baby!!

Oh, Belle, I felt like crying as I read your words of love for your Cosette. I do recall having been moved by it the first time I read it, however, seeing photos of her added to my emotions.

My cat, Magic, is almost identical except for the fact that she has white on her cheeks and chin. She is very old and all systems are shutting down. She has such spunk and rallies through every health crisis.

I commiserate with you, Dear Ruth,
Linda

jellybeans: Your hugs are always balm to my soul, dear friend... thank you so much!!

garysgirl: I know you understand... and I thank you so much. *S* I was never blessed with children... for 14 and a half years, Cosette made that hurt less. *S*

EA: You dear... thank you so much!! I hope your Magic continues to rally for a long, long time... *S* Just yesterday, I was reminded that another loss looms... the friend who takes care of Mama Kitty when I'm gone came over... and his sad sigh of "Oh, Ruth" when he saw her stripped any illusions I might have been harboring that time isn't short for her.
