I can not sleep tonight.
I am beyond tired I think
...I think,
that always has been my greatest problem
...I think.
I miss you.
I miss
the tids and bits and threads of your life.
I turn over every image and thought of you
until they are limp
worn scraps fading in my hands.
I hunger
for your taste.
I am greedy
for your mind.
My ears ache
in the silence that had been filled
with your voice.
I wander
in a darkness all too briefly lit
by the fire in your eyes.

Well said.....that seems to be the way life is, as if there were some principle that requires us to be left missing the very things we desire most.... That's not true of course, but still it feels as if it were just so.

blah...I answered this before and before I could post, the computer needed to update and shut me down....

As I was saying...

Love, learn and ache.  Part of life, and then we find a way to wake up each morning, swallow our pain and get out of bed.   If we are really, really lucky we find something so much better we wonder what we were thinking before.

But you say it sooooo much better, my Icy friend!

I love the ache in this one, and the imagery.  Well done.
