I Still Run

It's always the same moon and it's resting place
In the golden against that blackened sky
It's deep in the stillness that I can't seem to breathe
With only the summer's air to even know that I cry...

There's something about the way dusk defeats me
I become a little lifeless of who I just was
For, I still run to who I was when I was with you, then
Frozen until the moon makes way for the sun...

I go down just like sunset only I don't grace anything
Nothing vibrant to remember me at all
I still run to the nearest and clearest sight of your face
With only the late evenings to know that I fall...

And, the clouds make their move across the stars up there
And, all I can think is where you could be
I still run in the quiet hour of your name being said
Roaming nightfall in your light just to see...

I still run to the closest grasp of your hand
And, stare in your absence as if you'll appear
I still run when the days end lends no comfort to it
Waiting, just waiting, to be rescued here...

Should you see me beneath heaven's blanket below
Could you just meet my eyes so I will know
Shall I still run in only what I can see
That, your arms will find room to catch me...

Saunni~
It is SO good to see you ... this is a lovely penning ... which doesn't surprise me in the least ... as you are, and always were one who could pen such touching pieces~

Your photo is LOVELY ... you look like life is being good to you~

Keep smiling, gal~

~smiling~ at your lovely words and face...

The moon, although a sliver, has caught my eyes lately

Though your words be sad, they are as beautiful as your lovely face. I could imagine you whispering them from your poetic heart as I read along.
