Time has found me once more
lost in days of daze entranced
revisiting those yesterdays
when it was our turn to dance

Dance?
Of course we did
under the silver light
of a harvest moon

it happened much too fast
ending as it always does;
way to soon.

Reality set in
then I knew you only by name
although soon enough I caught on
as to how to play your head games

I tired of it rather quickly;
it was not quite my style
to hide behind these falsehoods
while always wearing a smile.

My heart continually aches
but I know this to be certain truth,
there may be no winners this time around
but me...      I'll never lose.

I was there, caught in a moment
but all moments too must pass
just like time that slips by slowly
so this~  our love~   also has

I know I will return here again
         someday
that then I shall shed another tear

because I can not forget you
and damn it, for some reason
I still care.
