When the music’s here the makers cast their vibes like a duo of magicians working magic in the sky and the storm recedes, a chastised energy sent to lick its wounds over an empty sea. Too soon, too soon, the sea becomes my feel looking up and sensing life’s lack of harmony growing larger, larger, with weighted disdain and moving closer, closer, the essence of pain. But when the music’s here I touch on spirit lands reverently like a bride welcomes in her man and sideways move a dream past the love in me for in a dream the power to override the real. Sky rumbles! Is it thunder or an accolade for me or celebratory drum rolls in place of love’s release, and now there is the rain, pitter-patter, gentle slow, and I know the music makers can see into my soul. They are the sun and sons of a woman in the know, my midnight oil and stars … and the reason I feel old but music burns the bridges between the weak and strong like the flames of love justify a world gone wrong. The makers and their music, love and lovers true for one without the other like sky without the blue! Helen / 8 July 2005 |
