Rusted gloom, boards
echo footsteps ahead,
warning of my
approach, you are
inside here somewhere?
Scent hijacks my
nostrils suddenly, impudent.
Furniture strewn on
dust smothered floorboards,
footprints picked out
by moonlight, shining
through cracked, grimed
windows, lead langourous
trails through cavernous
rooms, feet sweet,
dainty, spiders creep
toe prints, probing.
Gloaming surrounding me,
reliant on my
senses, seeking you.
Then a glow,
dim down corridors,
my mind facsimile,
brings me at
last to you.
Creaking door swings,
disenthralling light out.
Sitting clad as
night skies dead
in winter silence.
Pale, scarlet lips
painted rigid, eyes
shadows, lidded top
dreamed ice blue.
Hair sable sleek,
cataracting, spilling across
anaemic bare skin.
Arms open for
me,my trail
ends within your
enfolded embrace, gathering
my cold face,
to your warm
breasts for eternity.

Desire for nothing except desirelessness, hope for nothing except to rise above all hopes, want nothing and you will have everything.avatar Meher Baba.

this seemed to be a plea...and the images were so descriptive with clarity...even though sad, I still enjoyed
passing shadows

A sad song, Phil...
made me look into the archives
to find some meaning...

Thank you, for this.

So sad Phil, but in this poem I see the hope and promise of the trail ending in a comfortable and safe place.  Hugs to you for this one.

What color of pale does a shadow cast?
How loud are the sounds of a distant sigh?
~sigh~ hearing a sad melody in this, wishing you a choirful of meadowlarks

You write equally well of both the dark and the Light.

May sunshine (and the warmth of a good woman ) cast away all brooding shadows.

"Arms open for
me,my trail
ends within your
enfolded embrace, gathering
my cold face,
to your warm
breasts for eternity."

Would that shadow be Passing?

Sorry I read the poem wrong before...now I get the title!
