a long one......

The layer of ice cannot hold me up any longer
i've worn out my welcome
the feeling was too much for me to bare
now i no longer feel anything
i don't remember a time when i walked beside someone
it's been so long
i've been singing the same song for years
maybe this is the day
that my tune will change
the road looked empty from then on
the heat was probably getting to me
i felt as if i couldn't breathe
all the air was gone
gravity had kept me from flying away

i hadn't noticed how beautiful the sky was today
i was possessed by my own loneliness
the places that i know and go
are all that i have
the reflection of myself
in my ocean of solitude
reminds me that i will continue to be alone
the world seems like it no longer exists
this place feels so familiar
when you shake it up
the white flakes flare up
and slowly descend upon this place that's my home
sometimes i wish it would rain more often...

i know somewhere
a couple is in each other's arms
dazed by the beauty of the skyline
but i'll never understand
why my life happens to be so empty
lifeless objects and pictures with passerbys i only know by name
will never be anywhere near enough
to refer to my presence as life

where are you
when you look at the sky
do you feel the same emptyness i do
this dream i have
my wish
that i long to come true
will be no longer
when we cross each other
the day that i meet that someone
is the day i will cease to exist
for the time being
i'll do what i always have
even though you seem so far away
i'll walk on for one more day
even if you are too far away

this speaks lonely and hopeful - the emotion is palpable - it aches my heart -

Although this may not ring true to you, I have found that it is better to be lonely and with no one than it is to be unhappy with the wrong person.

You expressed yourself so well through the written word, that I could deeply feel your loneliness.

May the right person for you come into your life and shine his sun upon your days ~ and his moonbeams upon your nights.

Sending you a big loving hug,
EA
