Someday perhaps
you will be able to see
past the smiles that slowly appear
every moment that you are near

and maybe you will gaze deeper
into emerald eyes
that seemingly happen
to come alive
and sparkle at
the sound of your laughter
floating in the air

but now you're too busy
to have a care
while taking time to blaze
your own trails
across night time skies

swinging from stars
as evenings slip by

Carefree, so happily

to enjoy;

this is your purpose
because you refuse to look
below the surface.

Are you afraid
that you will see
the tears you left behind
when you took off
to go searching for
whatever it was
that you were hoping to find?

I prayed for
some of that stardust
to fall down on me
from heavenly hues
so that for a few seconds
I might shine      bright enough
for you to view

the person
that lies     beyond
the one
that you have chosen to see

but rather that you may
peer into the soul

of the real me.

Give me your heart
Make it real
Or else forget about it...Santana

so oft, we tend to see people how we want them to be, rather then to allow their identity to become us and them...sometimes, people fear...looking deep into the heart and souls of others, perhaps b/c they are afraid of what they might find out about themselves...so, they tend to sleep, pretending those they are close to, are seen, only as they allow themselves to see...and to, perhaps, fear the capabilities of your identity?

Hugs to you for a very deeply penetrating poem...thought provoking, isn't it?

luv you....I see the real you and know who you are....fly

I keep a fragrance bottle my
muse gave me when I met him
in endless winter and he
settled me into remembering
who I am.

Oh, this got me good only because this is something I have to forgive myself for:

Are you afraid
that you will see
the tears you left behind
when you took off
to go searching for
whatever it was
that you were hoping to find?

This touched my heart, Donna. I have been on both sides.
I hate to admit that, but it's true.

thanks for sharing your heart with us, Sweetie.
Hugs,
