Marks of Time

I bear the weary marks of time
From a dreary mountain climb
Holding on to mental dare
By hand and foot and swear and care

And though I really cannot stop
I see a raven on the top
Circling with a distant leer
Making mock my near and fear

I know some day that we will meet
My journey comes to near complete
And I will fly a spirits flight
With the raven and in the night

My skin will turn to feathers black
My arms will turn to wings I lack
And I will fly the darkest blue
To change into the newest coup

My dust will fall on earth and sea
And change to something yet to be
