I gaze into the distance
past the white caps
and sapphire skylines
and my breath draws sharp

I am taken aback,
the beauty
of her simplicity
overwhelms me

She is majestic

as though royalty
adored by many who would
hold her as their own

but she is a mighty temptress
luring lost souls
calling them unto her
with her siren songs
and the promise of the unknown;

few have ever escaped her hold
although all stand in awe
of her power and grace.

She is moody and shows many faces,
yet I understand the depths of her

the transitions
from light to dark;
the calm before the storm
when she swirls
twirling in dance
like a gypsy      free
mesmerizing me

with her tempest crescendos
fading to gentler melody
where she comes to rest
upon the shores

only to slowly return
with the tide
to the azure horizons
where my heart is held
forever more.

(thank you Bella, for the beautiful views
that are so inspiring.)

Give me your heart
Make it real
Or else forget about it...Santana

OMG Donna, jeez, you've floored me with this one, and this? .........

she is moody and shows many faces,
yet I understand the depths of her

the transitions
from light to dark;
the calm before the storm
when she swirls
twirling in dance
like a gypsy      free
mesmerizing me

I didn't think it possible
to capture a wave...

but if ever one was to come close...

this is it.

this was gloriously, orchastreated...a vivid read...especially enjoyed

I gaze into the distance
past the white caps
and sapphire skylines
and my breath draws sharp

Wow!!!  loved those images, as in each and every sentence

I felt you were gazing on nature's oceanic middle eye

and it does take your breath away, doesn't it....

well, b/c I adore the ocean, that is what I chose to see in this....but my words, does not do this master piece justice.

Thank you for sharing.

Turnabout's fair play, both then and now....this poem lifted me then and it lifts me now, so now I lift it in return.
