When I walk into a room
There is no one around
When I step outside my door
I never hear a sound
When I sleep inside my bed
I never even dream
When I turn on the TV
It's blank... or so it seems

I am pushed into a corner
Left holding the door
Always interrupted
Trampled on the floor

I am existing to survive
Persisting to be alive
Desiring recognition
Detesting my isolation

As I drive along the road
It's empty as can be
As I wander here at home
Myself, I only see
As I call upon the phone
No answer I receive
As I shout out to the Lord
It’s me… who's not believed

Shunned by silent voices
I was washed upon a shore
Alive for no one else
Alone forever and more

I existed to survive
Persisted to stay alive
Desired recognition
Detested my isolation

I am no longer

I keep a fragrance bottle my
muse gave me when I met him
in endless winter and he
settled me into remembering

Very well expressed
& reveals so much pain so elequently

We all have been there ...
on that same shore ..one way or another, I guess.
I'll certainly keep this.

Thank you
