Wide-Awake Ache
~*Marge Tindal*~

I know the ache of wide-awake
while all around me slumber deep

Turn of undone thoughts in toss
keeps me sleepless … at a total loss~

A total loss of comprehend
of when these sleepless nights might end
Need the time when slumber wraps me tight
holding me through dark of night~

Dark of night I beg you please
send me forty winks of slumbered ease
Just enough to tempt me to
awaken refreshed when the winks are through~

The winks are through … never enough
no surprise the mornings are rough
I know the ache of wide-awake
while all around me slumber deep~

I sure do know this place of pacing, laying down and wide awake.  I hope you have a peacefilled sleep tonight...and good dreams too!

Dear Marge,

As I read your words, they represent what I have been feeling lately as I embark on another of life's transitions. Sleepless nights and wide awake with my thoughts!

Love,
Patricia

Oh, so true. Wide awake can be so hard. You have a way with description.

Margie girl darling one this is superb, it shows the toss of thoughts in the dark of night when YOU are awake but all around you are sleeping, and sleeping peacefully. I've definitely been there a time or two.

Absolutely superb writing and exquisitely presented, love it utterly, utterly utterly
Love you always
and forever

My oh my, I know this feeling Marge..
Sometimes you just want to beg for a few minutes sound sleep.
Seems when I go to bed my brain wakes up!
Good one m'friend.

There aren't many advantages to living all alone... but at least I don't have to watch someone sleeping soundly when I can't. *S*

On the other hand... I don't have the option of having company for my waking. *blonde mind going down very naughty paths* LOL

However frustrating your insomnia is... it's gifting you with some lovely writes! *S*

Been here before. You have the ability to take something that is aggravating, add your words & it becomes beautiful.

Just a little glass of wine sometime Marge and you'll drift for quite a long time.

Love the rhyme scheme it flows so well.
