Between the Lines

Today is filled with promise,
even though the heat
can weaken the spirit
and love has taken a vacation.

Because in this silence
the pen is mightier than the sword
and my storytelling  paints
an "unforgettable portrait"
of feelings for what once was
or could have been.

A distraction in life,
that's what it was,
one that threw me off the path
of realness
kissing me into a falsehood,
losing myself
in a "tapestry of unquilted love"...

Addictions of the heart,
wanting to love and be loved,
opening up to rainbows of the mind
where heaven touched a bit of this earth,
always on the other side of midnight.

Words, vampire-like,
or maybe witchcraft in disguise,
where serenity was a falsehood
and the blank page ahead of me
was filled with my fantasies
of belonging.

A feeling needed
to make it through the days when
emptiness took a strong hold
and losses left a gaping hole
that anyone could have filled.

I was a victim of heart,
torturing myself into becoming
but not without reason, and now I see
what blinded me before
and I know
I am going to be ok
because it has happened...
once again I  have fallen in love
.
.
.
.
with life itself
and the beauty of
its touch.

And no one, NO ONE
can ever take that away
from me...
again.

M

Well now, if I were paranoid...

I applaud the strength in this, m.

*chuckling* and I swear if I still lived in here, I would wonder...shaking me head.

MAureen, I love this. I feel it. We have so many strong emotions, I wonder why they all feel so hard to handle.

Maureen...Enjoyed very much...Paul

Tis beautiful when the heart
opens up to reality

All darkness turns
to light
and you realize
this is
who I am
and no one
can hurt me

oh M, this was so wonderful!

Isn't it great to finally awaken and find there can be new beginnings?  or even better beginnings?
