Gently, let the fire which bends steel
melt these cold bones    let some passion
commensurate to my soul's yearning
ravish me into the sweetest ecstasy:
let the luminous half of me
drown the longing of your spirit
and in the swift water's roll
discover the best cathedrals
for my worship.

I will not forget...
for I will have been
to that holy place   where gold
was fashioned out of simple prayer
and a star bolted and took to the curve
of your lips.

I will not forget.

Enchantress,

"I will not forget...
for I will have been
to that holy place   where gold
was fashioned out of simple prayer
and a star bolted and took to the curve
of your lips.

I will not forget."

Beautiful! What more can I say, your poem says it all. Another gem out of many.

those are the kind of verses and images that make me wish I had wrote them, but then Im thinking a whole lot of writers will be saying that about this poem...

let the luminous half of me

love that image....

and a star bolted and took to the curve
of your lips.

thats some line poetess Nancy....I see your pen is as enchanting as ever.

Writers try to capture the exhilaration of Nature & inspiration of Love.
The attempts may be futile, the endeavors are all things that is poetry.

Wow, Nancy...  that's some powerful imagery.  And it brings some comfort to think that the other may actually choose to remember...  Awesome visuals.

"let the luminous half of me
drown the longing of your spirit"

love those lines Nancy...

if half is luminous, what is the other half?

I know...I think too much.

I fear I have many lives to go.
