WHITE WATER

Oh, the passions that lie in the depth of a man
That break through the heart and the soul of the land
Along swollen rivers, in canyons that lie
In foothills where Blue Ridge meets blue of the sky

Roll on, sweet Potomac, meander and wind!
Flow on, Shenandoah, through rifts of the mind!
Keep tumbling down from the hills to the west
For there is a dreamer who rides on your crest

Reflections of dawn turn to mirrors that pave
A white water highway to carry the brave
Keep churning and turning o’er bolder and stone
You, too, have a beautiful dream of our own!

Roll on, lonely river, slip on through the pass
Sweet waters will stir salty oceans at last
You live every moment in tranquil unrest
Like the dreamer whose eye swirls the white of your breast

Liz

This is so beautifully inspired!  I know it will make a great song...could almost hear the melody...

Adding to Martie's comment--I'd sing this if it were a song....

Hi Liz, good Morning!

wonderful and enlightening...and this...

Roll on, sweet Potomac, meander and wind!
Flow on, Shenandoah, through rifts of the mind!
Keep tumbling down from the hills to the west
For there is a dreamer who rides on your crest

the minds of dreams and lovers for the good of others reflects in this two fold...thank you for a marvelous great cup of early morning coffee...

One of the loveliest words
I have ever known....

Shenandoah, you're fast,
to home, come home....
