For your face
I would bear
the sting of
desert sand,
That face that
holds the eyes
that sway me
in a summer swing
to and fro.
You always
bring
me back
to who I know
I am.

For your face
that holds the lips
that speak the smile of me,
I would free myself
of emptiness
allow
the touch
of kiss....
what more than this
could fill my heart
with joy.

For your face
that holds the lines
my fingers wish
to trace,
that finds its place
on canvas core
of my soul,
For knowing brow,
I’d be your wife
if I knew how
to break the irons
that hold my life.

I would not fear
the road ahead
if to your face
I knew it led.

That was honestly well written and romatic. It made a tear come from my eye when I read that. Truly remarkable poem. Keep it up.

"For your face

a lot of great lines in this...

I hope it's non-fiction.

I hope.

Jo~
Just lovely~

Funny how each of us find 'just the right lines' ...
Mine -

'That face that
holds the eyes
that sway me
in a summer swing
to and fro.'

Oh, yes ... I know the movement well~

So you've seen this face as well...     A magnificent flow with moments to which I could relate as well...  Haven't we all felt this before with certain visages?  This passage was especially powerful:

if I knew how
to break the irons
that hold my life.

It even has a "parallel life"/SOMEWHERE IN TIME vibe to it as well...  Very nice.

Iliana,

I liked this poem so much that I have gone back to read some of your other works. I just want you to know that to me this really is a work of art.

Thanks,
SG
