Manifesto of Life

I write therefore I am
Pieces of me scattered across pages
Then crumbled up and tossed into nothingness;
Ink stains on my hands
Bleeding where I gripped my pen,
Flowing red veins on the back of shaking hands,
Turn black when my vainness steals memories from my soul
And as my twin dreams, his veins run blue---
Saturating the lining of my eyelids with mood swings,
Scribbles and scratches forming incoherent words
Dripping as golden tears,
Over-filling a silver cup of thoughts
To which I offer a half-hearted toast
To the ghosts who drink from my sanity.

Marcel
