“Mommy she said there’s a MONSTER under my bed
come quick, look, his eyes are red”

“what I said, there’s no monster under your bed”
I fear little one you’ve completely
lost your head”

“well I can see his eyes and hear his
growl, and he moved a little closer
to the edge just now”

“and see look there’s his paw
trying to grab me she said”

“mommy I swear there’s a monster
under my bed”

“ok I am coming to see what the fuss
is about”, and she stared at me with
those big green eyes excited and nervous  as  I took a look

to find she was right
in the dark hour of this night
a Monster under the bed
and his eyes did glow red

so I put my hands in to
pull him out

and as I did she gave a shout

"see I told ya so"
as her eyes lit up

he didn’t growl
or look so tough
in fact he was cute
with his little green eyes
and then she looked at me in surprise

a little giggle escaped her lips

and she said “OH hunter”
its only you
and she gave him a kiss
then I knew

she’d go back to sleep with
sweet dreams  and all
as I left her room
and headed down the hall

I swear again she giggled and said

hey mommy told ya so
to the monster under the bed…..

~~~~
Meet the little Monster Under the Bed
Hunter…..
I keep a fragrance bottle my
muse gave me when I met him
in endless winter and he
settled me into remembering
who I am.
So cute Lauren...
I remember going through almost the same
situations with my own when they were little.
Love this!
Ah Lauren this was so cute, and very sweet.  Nice to see a little green-eyed rhyme for the girls too.  I bet they love the stories their Mommy tells too
GreenEyes~
You brought back some tender memories with this one~
One of ours was called the "YaHa Monster" ...
and then we had the "Not ME Monster" ...
Each of my four children have special memories of the monsters that lived at our home when they were small~
This is surely a moment for you~
AND ... for them when they grow up~
(OH, Heaven forbid ... but they do exactly that !)
