Love,
bamboo overtook the garden
these past two years
tall as the berry tree
strong as the pear tree
their young ones gained
spread where fresh laundry
once hung in shaded breeze

such power

along our chain link fence
even the neighbors tall wood,
they blocked the sun
taunting us in winter
threatening us in spring

flaunting power

then the gardener came
and not so gently thwarted
a hostile take over
two days, the fight
I heard angry threats
saw futile attempts at
revenge
but in the end they
weakly acquiesced

out of power

they have a new home now
somewhere away from here

I both mourn and
rejoice their departure
yet take comfort in knowing
bamboo, when cut, grows
very strong and is not easily
broken

such power!

these days, love

sun smiles upon our garden
and our youngs ones are
now free to embrace light...

Wonderful story telling, Tier~
Even the bamboo sounds pretty, but prettier without it I'm sure.

nodding here, and I have a brand new empty yard, and I'm afraid to plant anything. Just as the plants come to maturity, I tend to move...

This reminded me of a friend, who just let the bamboo take over. She chopped paths through the stand, and it was a delight of a labyrinth. (Drove her hubby crazy tho)

Thanks for the smiles and the memory, tiers...

Very nice work

I enjoyed this one.  I love the sunshine, but sometimes I want a little shade.

Really enjoyed this as I have a four corner spot in my back yard filled with ever growing bamboo. I like the privacy there. I love it now, and as It will be someone else's problem in the future, I can afford to keep it there. LOL, martyjo
