(written for my son, Jay...Happy Father's day!)

Covered with Love

Your baby hands were big even then,
big enough to reach out and touch
the place where love is.

You waved them like wings,
trying to capture the light of dust
that slipped around your curved palm.

You opened something with your tiny fingers,
something invisible, made from heaven’s weave,
then you wrapped me in it
and it gave me grace.

Now, with your big blanket of love,
I see you have found the same fabric,
for you cover her with such tenderness that I weep.

I could never find the words to tell you.

Now you know.

I was reminded of this poem by Marge in her poem located here:/pip/Forum92/HTML/003536.html

It really is amazing to watch your son become a loving father...I'm sure proud of mine!

A priceless gift...a treasure that you have
been blessed in having.  He got his genes
from you,  surely he did!

I saw photos of a Jaysmile today...
This will only make him beam
even more...

Thanks, Sissie,
for sharing the times
that I saw in dreams...

oh my stars... what a beautiful little creature of God up there...

aint we so lucky?

all these babies that God is giving us

mine just keep growing, and growing and I hope that I am lucky enough to watch them love one of their own someday

I LOVED THIS

makes me wanna dig thru the pics of the kids and remember when they were that small...even the smallest now of 8 months feels like a lifetime away since she was "swaddled"

Thank you for sharing this with us

You opened something with your tiny fingers,
something invisible, made from heaven’s weave,
then you wrapped me in it
and it gave me grace.

so brilliantly reflects the changes which grope ur way through life...tranformations, perceptions, human interaction, unconditional love...and the beauty of relaitonships, of all kinds...

there is nothing like a son....and watching him father his own....an essay and color of joy, so sturdy, nothing can ever break this house down...

Oh, you have moved me with this, deeply and delicately....

Hugs to ya Martie....

Covered with love.....a good place to be, from one end of life to the other.....and I have a feeling that's how it is for you.

You're truly a poet of the heart, and it shines from you like a crystal lamp when you write of these things.

So beautiful Martie..
And it does bring tears to the eyes
to see our own sons become fathers.

...it seems like yesterday we held our precious bundle oh so tight.

Thank you for your wonderful words.
Hugs~Nancy
