My Father

Was no Cicero or Nero
But to me he was a hero
A man that stayed his marriage vow
Nor missed a day his daily plough

He stayed with us and did his best
And never thought it was a test
He loved us as much as he could
And lived a life he understood

He was not wise he was not sage
But filled his part upon the stage
He filled his life and loved his wife
And shielded us from much of strife

He was responsible and stayed
When he worked and when he played
Nor did he fill my mind with awe
But I would say of solid core

He was no Cicero or Nero
But to me he was a hero

In many ways, the acorn did not fall far from the tree, Sir Nut!

Your father may not have been a sage, but his son is a sagacious poet on the world stage!

A beautiful rendering from your loving heart.

Happy Father's Day to you, my friend!

Love,
EA

Such a beautiful tribute, dear Seymour.

Every Father is happy if he is loved, cherished and respected by his children and if they see in him their hero, the feeling of gratitude transforms into bliss.

Love and hugs.

What more could a son want then what you got...

A father that...
".. filled his life and loved his wife
And shielded us from much of strife"

Had to be a good man...

I think you were blessed, by a man of
integrity and heart.  A gift that all
children would wish to have for a lifetime.

Martie
Maybe not the apple, maybe a peach.

Barry,
He was a good man in every sense.
