The Scent of Rain

water trickles down the window
it leaves patterns as it slides
  to a halt
the smell of the rain brings
  back pictures in my mind
of a time when all was safe
  eager for life's unfolding

i remember your eyes
  like liquid crystals
  of a catseye marble
Your body full of strength
  the defination of your muscles
pronounced by the contours of light
only an artist with a charcoal crayon could
   define its splendor

the scent of the rain brings me
  back to a time
when life was born of beauty
when you and I were one
when the world was safe
and love was unfolding

This is wonderful....I am a sucker for the love poems that grace these blue pages so beautifully.

My own heart aches to return to a time of surety and beauty.

"the scent of the rain brings me
  back to a time
when life was born of beauty
when you and I were one
when the world was safe
and love was unfolding"
Rain does have a way to bring our minds back to special memories and safer times!!!!

And you portrayed it wonderfully.
