My nights have been lonely,
The miles have been long.
But I can't forget about you.
I know that it's over,
I know that you're gone,
But, darling, I miss you, that's true.

Your words were so tender-
That I was entranced.
But I should have known all along...
That feelings betray you,
And so does romance.
Besides which, the whole thing was wrong.

I guess you've forgotten,
The dreams that we shared.
For I know that you felt it too-
I guess you were wiser,
And probably scared...
But dared do what you had to do.

But when I get lonely...
And slumber won't come,
I sit down amd write a few lines;
I know when you read them-
You'll know who their from...
And know I still feel that you're mine.
