Our Lizzie has this cute little gopher,
Digging holes beneath her stairs.
Obsessed with its excavating actions,
She now waits to see if he even dares.

Will he even dare to enter her basement,
Try taking up residence in her house?
She decided to call “The Gopher Man”
To get rid of the busy little louse!

I really think they’re cute as heck
Did y’all not see that Caddy shack?
What’s the harm of building him
A cute little condo out in back?

I say leave him alone, let him live,
You surely must have enough space?
Don’t forget to fancy up his house
Make the curtains out of pretty lace.

Besides come on, think about it,
Whenever you need a tunnel or a hole,
Just beckon your own gopher,
See now, you don’t even need a mole?

A golf course yard will be yours
Where you can go and play.
I say, “Make that gopher your friend”
Besides Lizzie, he is there to stay!

I hate to tell you this Liz, but they say they come in pairs!

Don't know if he is still there, but when I talked to her, she was on the rampage of getting him to move to another neighbourhood!  LOL, Lizzie you truly make me laugh loudly!

They say they dig the hole empty only to have it filled by the other gopher, who digs a hole, and then that gopher fills that one and so on!  I say best YOU move, as I am not sure they will.  Here you go, everything you ever wanted to know about gophers and then some!

Sharon...this sure made me smile.  I remember that porch...if it's the one out back, that is where the bunny was living. I hope the bunny's ok.   to both you and Liz!

Go-fer it Sharon! Go ahead and make fun.
How adorable. THank you for this portrait of wildlife in the middle my little domain
I'll tell you, I love animals, but not when they're in your face, and in your space, and you watch them scavangering just outside your kitchen window when you're trying to eat breakfast
You make them sound so cute, though. I wonder if this one (or two) or three would be well treated if they lived under your steps. You'd probably invite them in! and offer a home cooked meal! --and dessert!
---with whipped cream!
Thank you, doll for making me laugh in the midst of my gopher alert. I think it (they) moved headquarters to under my deck!
(very traumatic)
Love you and your sense of humor!
Liz

Liz, don't let me kid you, I react the exact way to squirrels!  Little beggers!

If I had gophers I'd feed them breakfast alright, a very special brownie recipe I learned in the 1970's, then at least they would wake up and NOT remember where they lived when they find themselves on the outskirts of town in some dump!
They would not know what hit them!

http://www.rodenator.com/media/Farmersfightfortherighttoblowuprodents.doc        KABOOM!
Did you read that?  Good grief, now they have "Gopher Busters?"

"Gopher Busters, Inc. is a local business that exterminates rodents"

Good grief!  I guess you guys in the States really do not like these rodents do you?  We think they are kind of cute up here, and those cute little groundhogs. Image hosted by Photobucket.com I love their little dance at the top of the mound they do.  However, I do NOT like that armadillo things, they are right scary!  Any animal that comes with armour is not exaclty my idea of friendly.
