Someone built a road up the mountainside
and then, surprisingly, down the other side
beyond my understanding and appreciation
of the misty and the vague, the indefinable,
and the most decidedly never to be known
in the course of my lifetime.

Someone sowed the seeds on both sides simultaneously
for the wild and the beautiful, the sane and practical,
the dreamer, believer, and seasonally bewitched,
to bedazzle the eyes of each and every traveler
purporting so to go where no one’s gone before.

Someone planted trees already fully grown
but they all started out just like you and me
crawling on all fours beyond their boundaries
and then clutching, grabbing … anything
as an undeniable means of support.

Love travels that road between the good and bad
up, up, and further up, till on the peak it stalls
and it stays there immobile in the grip of fantasy
enthralled with the prospect of self induced release.

Someone brought the rain and the mountain had to go
and of love it merely tumbled back to the beginning
to wander lost and lonely amidst the dry and barren
unaware, completely, of how close it was one day
to the misty and the vague, the indefinable,
and the only place to be forever more, amen!

Exceptional write. Much enjoyed.

Helen, this was gorgeous...!!!

Especially this part

Someone sowed the seeds on both sides simultaneously
for the wild and the beautiful, the sane and practical,
the dreamer, believer, and seasonally bewitched,
to bedazzle the eyes of each and every traveler
purporting so to go where no one’s gone before.

How positive and so matter of factly....
You've got me believing...smiles and hugs

Thank you all so much for reading and for commenting.  Oh, and Lee, I guess we all climb and slide even when we know, or think we know, what's on the other side.  We just don't know it well enough to put the necessary effort in.
