When the Dawn Breaks

When the dawn breaks on forever
we will greet the risen son,
revealed in all his glory,
and we’ll know the battle’s won.

Though the night’s grown dark and bitter
I can sense the coming day,
I can hear the hallelujahs
when his children kneel to pray.

I can see the light of heaven
on each happy smiling face.
I can hear the angels shouting
when they play Amazing Grace.

We will stand before our savior
when the final trumpet rings,
in that bright eternal morning
when they crown him King of Kings.

Thank you Linda. You know, I've written hundreds of verses, and some poems, but the ones about my faith can be counted on the fingers of one hand. I thought about that the other day, so I wrote this one.
