sunday voice#1

come with me to a field
of wildflowers-where
red & purple quilt
our passion
-take these breasts
-swallow this breath
-hold my tired heart

come with me
to our bed -
   of red & purple

I've read this a couple times today...each time I meant to comment on it...but was dragged away upon other errands. The rest of the world is just going to have to wait on me though...because I darn well mean to tell you I think this is wonderful. It is a poem that has been itching at my mind since 4:30 AM. That is a sign of great poetry...if it imprints upon the mind after the first casual glance...it is great...and I care not what other people have to say. It reminds me of The Iceberg Theory by Gerald Locklin. Not so much in the wording, nor in the subject matter, but rather in the emotion it instilled. Bravo Snow!

GR.. thank you for your thoughts.

Kevin, having you comment to my work again means more to me than i can say. you've always been one to pick my work apart and find the little things about it that get to the heart of the matter ... i trust what you say and i know that if you thought it sucked you'd say so (in email lol)
thank you for everything.. and more. always. S~

A challenge from Ed -- spend a moment today, thinking about how we should treat a good person who is one of PiP's finest poets....if not this one, then one of your choice....it seems we need to.
