Through willow leaves
A few dim stars
Above white houses

Love songs
From a radio
Through an open window
On a second floor

A blue light
From a streetlamp
On the corner

Garden flowers—Summer grasses

A faint perfume
In the still damp air

This is lovely!

You brought up a memory of a hot hot summernight, when I used the willow's long leaves to fan myself as they were close to the balcony ... while watching the majestic firmament...

Love, Margherita

And it is almost time
for the chirp
of crickets
telling of heat,
and damp.
